Piccadilly Circus

I can't belive Dan and Liz haven't shown you all Piccadilly Circus before!! Now I realise that a lot of you have seen this place for yourselves, but this picture has both Dan and Liz in it. Somehow, that's supposed to make it special...

-Ben

The Greatest Store Ever

Hotel Chocolat is a wall to wall chocolate heaven. Not just any chocolate either... some of the most exquisite chocolates the world has to offer.

As it turns out, Dan is now the manager of this very store; Hotel Cocolate, High Street Kensington.

-Ben

Look Closely...

Dans most potent weapon

Not only did he pioneer the Dumb Stare, he is also the master of its application. He can make you feel dumb in seconds. I swear, it's stronger than the force.

-Ben

It takes a 'Special' man to look this 'Special'.

So I'm readying myself, trying to take a photo of a rogue lettuce, when dan wanders in front of the camera and goes all 'Special' on me.

-Ben

The Poo Shot

This is quite a significant photo. As it turns out I was standing in yesterday's lunch for some dog. Such sharing animals, dogs.

-Ben

Welcome to the Burnham Beeches

With only a few slugs, and not a lettuce in sight, this old forest was certainly refreshing. It felt a bit 'Robin Hood' really.

Liz, you're a dork.

This was our first iced over pond. Evie was taking us too see some of her mates, then go to the Royal Standard, England's oldest pub. On the way we found this little beauty.

-Ben

Hahahaha cop it Liz

So we're at a fairly dodgy pub in Kensington. We didn't stay long because it was too smokey in there. But what made the occasion memorable was Liz ordering a Leffe. Hahahahahaha! that stuff tastes like dirt.

-Ben

Trav is an Air-Guitar God!

Neeeewlinileeewneeeewneeew

Slug & Lettuce, Part 2

On a more positive note, we met up with Louise, Trav, and Nathan Smith. That was a bit surreal actually... haven't seen much of Nathan since highschool days.

-Ben

Welcome to the Slug & Lettuce!

The first night we met up with Louise, she took us to the Slug & Lettuce. THANKS LOUSIE (boo). This is hands down, the most disgusting bar I've been to. This place features so much booze all over the floor you can swim through it, ugly bar staff who get up on the bar and take their tops off, crap music, and beautiful toilets.

-Ben

Mr Bean's Nemesis

I just wanted to push this thing over. Real bad.

-Ben

Westminster Abbey

Here's the team at outside Westminster Abbey. We didn't go inside at this point, so we'll have to go back, because I've been told it's stunning.

-Ben

Starting to freak out

I realise that this all happened a few weeks ago, but this was the time when it really hit home that I was travelling. Even in Japan I was a bit blase about it all. Westminster is different, and I love it.

-Ben

Big Ben

Big Ben is one of the first things I saw outside Ealing. Evie took us on a walk through Westminster on the second night we were there.

You know, I've seen things like this a million times in pictures and movies, but actually standing next to buildings that are over 100 years old is something else. What's more, there's a hell of a lot here that's not just over 100 years old.... London goes waaaay back.

-Ben

I love bright lights!

This is my last pic of Japan. Just wanted to show you a glimpse of the nightlife here. Why just a glimpse? 'Cause thats all I got. I want to come back here to stay at some stage and really live it up.

That dragon's head is motorised and looks around the place... so cool!

-Ben

Umm, well.....

??!!

-Ben

I've never seen a safe store before...

Umm, I'll have a one 25L with manual dial, two 10L with digital keypads, and something that's never been cracked before thanks...

-Ben

This place is supposed to be the heart of a famous shopping district. It's a street, lined with shops that stretches over 2 miles.

I'm glad I used the word 'supposed' earlier. This place blows. Wall to wall junk, label rip-offs, and gambling parlours. At least it looks sweet.

-Ben

Hahahaha!

This thing was super mega out of place in Japan. Either the driver just drove over everyone, or they had the worst time getting around.

-Ben

Cube

This one's for you Matt.

-Ben

A sickening Fanta, two odd drinks, and a jar of Kit-Kats

Wee I didn't really het into Japanese food, But I sure had a crack at the vending machines. I had no idea what the middle two were when I bought them, and strangely enough, they tasted the same. Kinda like carbonated water flavoured by refreshing chemicals.....

-Ben

Got Drink?

This is just to prove that the whole 'vending machines are everywhere in Japan' thing is absolutely true.

-Ben

Mos Burger! Mos Burger!

The picture you see here was what we saw at the end (and during the middle) of most of our days in Japan. I do realise that I looked like i was going to be sick in the photo down below, but I was actually lovin it.

Mos Burger make the best burgers ever. They're small, but oh so tasty. Seriously so tasty. I love Mos Burger.

-Ben

More Vans

These crazy vans are all over the place. The first night we were there we heard something approaching that sounded like a psycho 400cc two stroke or somehting.... only to see a modified Tarago nailing it past us.

-Ben

I'm Back

Ok, so here's my second go at putting something up on this site...

So far nobody has shown you anything cool from Japan. Well this thing was cool! How often to you see people movers with kits and aftermarket exhausts?!

This was taken a litte later in the evening. as you can see, Ben had a little more to drink than most.

Ben had a whole bucket of mussels, Dan had Duck and i had some sort of Pork thing. the food was sensational.

Yeah, it looks good though.

This is a Kwak. it comes just like this in a mini yard glass and stand. Pity it tastes like dirt.

We went out for dinner at a great place called Belgo's in Covent Garden with Louise Renae and some friends. You start the night with a free round of shots and then it just gets better from there.

This is how i found these two at 8pm Friday 17th March at the Greystoke. They had been there since 12.30pm and had consumed 16 Guinesses between them, which earnt them 4 of those hats and many many badges.

There were heaps of motorbikes about.

This is the pier off Brighton Beach. Apparently there are these sorts of set ups at most of the beach side town, although they feel very American.

Looking back from the beach was amazing. such a beautiful coastline.

Our first experience with a pebble/rock beach. Boo to it.

More Brighton. I believe this is a hotel, and behind it is another Walkabout Pub. We Australians have such a bad reputation over here from those places.

This is Brighton Beach. It has been really cold and grey in London, but after just 90mins on the train south, the weather is beautiful.

this is the new pier that was built to replace the old pier which burnt down some time before we got there. it's pretty well americanised with donut shops, pokies, arcade machines and a theme park at the end...all the rides are lame.

ok so ben is obviously a noob...i think he was too busy ordering a TAB (ref to the simpsons)

Anywho, this is the train station at brighton. from the look of things it used to be just an outdoors station which has been converted in grand titan shed style to make it look a little more appealing.

Ben's First Post!!!!

Well, this is my first post on here people. So far, none of my stunning photographic skills have made it to public reception, so i'm starting from the beginning. Of Japan. And then moving on.

This is some street in Japan! It's the first place where I realised that I wasn't gonna be BBQing for quite some time. I think we all loved this particular intersection, what with it's contrast between Japanese aesthetic and ugly amount of powerlines everywhere.

-Ben

EDIT: Well I'm having technical difficulties. I'm down at the internet cafe we refer to as 'Turkish', and I'm not having fun. One might say I'm about to lose it. I'll try to sort out this photo prob later when I've calmed down.

UPDATE 20/3/06

Hey there... just letting you all know we have had some 'technical difficulties' over the last few weeks, but we are back! we should have some more stuff up this week from our trip to Brighton, St Pats day and various random stuff.
