Stuck in the UK

Saturday, August 05, 2006

This is the lovely view from Dan & Liz's room. Those machines make a great alarm clock. They fire up about an hour or so before you want to wake up.

Welcome Home!!

Ok, so I've had a gruelling day at work and I'm now moseying back from Pudding Mill station... that's Central House in the background. All I have to do is avoid death and I should make it home safely. Hurrah!!

More Filth

What else can I say? Picturesque

Beautiful Surroundings

Moving around to the rear of the building reveals our stunning river views. That filthy moss looking stuff really matches the junk that lines our river, creating the perfect setting for the abandoned industrial buildings you can see here.

The High Street

So this is Stratford High Street. It's a bit of a Maverick, resisting the trend for London high streets to be busy, up-market streets full of wonderful shops. No, our hight street is full of rundown trade industry shops, junk yards, and various types of waste control centres. The high amount of fine crap floating through the air, waiting to be lodged in your eyes is a nice touch too.

The only redeeming feature of the High Street, besides Central House, is the Porsche dealership next door. Nice cars, Porsches.

Our Beautiful Home

I know we posted some pics of our 'home in the ghetto' a little while ago. I just wanted to try and expand on them a little, and let you all know what it's really like leaving for work of a morning.

This is the front of our building, Central House. Looks pretty swish, but the photo tells a bit of a lie. You see, the photo omits the fact that from where I was standing taking this photo, an unholy stench permeates the air. A bit like a leaking septic tank or something. A real 'good morning Ben, have a great day at work' kinds of smell.
